About Us

Shoshana Shamberg
President, Abilities OT Services and Seminars, Inc.
   
Ms. Shamberg has over 30 years experience as an educator, therapist and professional trainer. She has presented over 150 international continuing education training seminars on a variety of topics related to independent living services for people with disabilities and aging adults. She has degrees in both occupational therapy and special education with a specialization in assistive technology and environmental modifications. She is a certified Brain Gym Instructor and an Irlen Scotopic Sensitivity Syndrome Screener. She specializes in educational programming for students with severe disabilities and people of all ages with learning differences.

She is presently teaching the only Internet-based training program on accessibility consultation for medical and design/build professionals, with an international participation. She is currently the AOTA representative to the American National Standards Institute (ICC/ANSI 117.1) Accessible Design Standards Building Code Committee, the MD representative to the AOTA IDEA Partnership Advisory Committee , a guest instructor in the OT Department at Towson University, and board member of the Maryland Occupational Therapy Association (MDOTA) as their legislative committee co-chairperson.
Our Staff

Our Staff of Consultants and Trainers can provide a wide variety of continuing education programs and services to meet your unique organizational or professional needs. Trainings and CE Programs can consist of one-hour to three-day trainings, from one topic to a menu of topics, and on-site at your location or at our training center in Maryland.

Our staff of Special Educators and Pediatric Therapy Service Providers conduct interactive, hands-on continuing education trainings for a wide variety of educational programming and services (including occupational therapy and physical therapy). Accessibility consultations and environmental/functional evaluations for home modifications, jobsite and community environments can be implemented on-site at your location, via video, or by phone from our office by our Accessibility Consultants. Resumes and references available upon request.

 

   Our seminars are approved for continuing education credits (CEUs) for OT, PT, SLP/Audiology, and Educators through professional state licensing boards where appropriate. AOTSS is an AOTA Approved Provider Program for CE and a member of the NBCOT Preferred Provider Registry. The following state licensing boards for OTs/OTAs accept AOTA APP CE credits: AK, AL, DC, DE, IL, KY, LA, MI, MN, MO, MT, NH,NC, NV, OH, OK, OR, RI, SC, TN, TX, VA and VT.
