AOTSS offers Internet-based Training / Home Study programs to healthcare professionals, case managers, building contractors, architects, designers, community services organizations, consumers, and caregivers. Learn from the comfort of your own environment using your own time frame and earn continuing education credits. College credits are also available.
This is a dynamic learning experience that offers personal e-mail communication with mentors who are national experts. Internet access is preferable, but not crucial, to participate; fax, phone, and postal mail can be used for communication as well. Receive access to the AOTSS Accessibility Consultants Network (ACN) "members only" section of our website containing text lessons, chatroom lectures, discussion board, networking, and extensive links to resources. To enhance your learning, you will also receive AOTSS' accessibility course manual and technical assistance guides, instructional videos, free publications, and samples of useful products via the mail.
Incorporate home safety, environmental modifications, and ADA consulting into your present career or begin a private practice. Apply accessibility design guidelines, ergonomics, and assistive technology for children/adults/seniors with disabilities for independent living/aging in place. AOTSS promotes the understanding of a cross-disciplinary team building process and a client-centered approach to promote independent living and accessibility compliance. Instructor Shoshana Shamberg, MS, OTR, has over 25 years of international teaching experience, program development, and presentations of professional seminars. Guest lecturers contribute their expertise to chatroom lectures.
